1. Our Commitment to You
Able & Co Allied Health Pty Ltd is committed to upholding the rights of every person with disability who uses our platform or receives supports facilitated through our services. This Charter affirms those rights and our obligations to you.
This Charter is grounded in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD), ratified by Australia in 2008, the NDIS Act 2013, and the NDIS Practice Standards. It reflects contemporary research on rights-based approaches to disability support (Shakespeare, 2018; Bigby & Frawley, 2010; Kayess & French, 2008).

3. Your Rights
3.1 Right to Dignity and Respect
You have the right to be treated with dignity, respect, and courtesy at all times. You will not be subjected to abuse, neglect, exploitation, or discrimination. Support workers and staff must address you in the way you prefer and respect your personal space and boundaries.
3.2 Right to Self-Determination
You have the right to make decisions about your own life, including decisions about the supports you receive, how they are delivered, and by whom. We will support your choices, even where we might personally disagree, provided your choices do not put you or others at serious risk.
3.3 Right to Supported Decision-Making
If you need help to understand information or make decisions, you have the right to access a support person, advocate, or nominee of your choosing. We will never substitute our judgment for yours without lawful authority.
3.4 Right to Privacy and Confidentiality
Your personal and health information will only be collected with your consent and used for the purpose it was collected. See our Privacy Policy (AC-PRIV-001) for full details.
3.5 Right to Access Information
You have the right to receive clear, accurate, and accessible information about:

Your NDIS plan and how your budget is being used

3.6 Right to Cultural Safety
You have the right to receive supports that are culturally safe and responsive to your cultural, linguistic, spiritual, and community identity. For Pacific Islander and First Nations participants, Able & Co is committed to culturally embedded service delivery informed by community partnership.
3.7 Right to Safety
You have the right to receive supports in a safe environment, free from harm. We are required by law to report any incidents that may affect your safety to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
3.8 Right to Complain
You have the right to make a complaint about any aspect of your supports without fear of detriment. See our Complaints Policy (AC-COMP-001) for the full process. You can also contact the NDIS Commission directly at 1800 035 544.
3.9 Right to Transition
If you choose to change providers, you have the right to a smooth and safe transition. We will provide all relevant documentation and support a handover that puts your continuity of care first.
3.10 Right to Advocacy
You have the right to access independent advocacy at any time — at no cost to your NDIS plan. See our Advocacy Policy (AC-ADV-001) for a list of advocacy services.
